How can marking exact switch and socket positions on walls avoid confusion during rewiring?

During renovation, it’s very easy for communication to get lost between you, the designer, and the electrician. A few centimetres difference in switch height or socket placement can mean constantly bending, stretching, or furniture blocking access later.

If you physically stand in each room and mark on the wall with tape or pencil—“switches here,” “socket for TV here,” “bedside plug here”—everyone knows the plan. Take photos too, so if plaster covers the markings, you still have a reference.

This simple step avoids that “yeh switch itna neeche kyu hai?” frustration that shows up only after you start living in the space.
