Open wardrobes are unforgiving. Unlike closed cupboards, everything is on display: clothes, hangers, storage boxes. If hangers are all different colours and shapes, and storage is a mix of random bags and boxes, your wardrobe will always look a bit chaotic, even if it’s technically “organised.”
Switching to one or two types of hangers—say all black plastic or all light wood—and using similar baskets or boxes instantly cleans up the visual noise. Your eye stops getting distracted by twenty shapes and colours and just sees neat rows.
You haven’t reduced the number of items, you’ve just given them a uniform “uniform.” That’s what makes it feel designed.
